The apartment has full gas central heating throughout and there is ample free parking directly in front of the property. There is also use of a shared, well-kept garden to the rear of the property .</p>

<p>Steeped in history, (visited by both Mary Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie,) This home has character and charm. It is an exceptionally interesting ‘B listed castle’. It has been sympathetically restored by its current owners to provide a magical yet welcoming and comfortable holiday home. Perfectly positioned near Stirling, Plane Castle has ready access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as being an ideal spot to explore the north.</p>
<p>The castle with its spiral staircases, painted beamed ceilings, stone vaulted rooms and thick walls is full of atmosphere. The period detail is everywhere and yet you have comfortable warm bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and splendid public rooms to make you comfortable. Plane Castle can be taken as 2 houses or one single property. It comprises the 1449 Tower House sleeping 4(+4) and the slightly later Manor House built in 1528 which sleeps a further 8 (+2) people</p>

<p>Both properties can enjoy the magnificent gardens complete with ponds, rowing boat, ducks, sculptures and delightful planting of beech tunnels, wisteria walks and even a Hobbit House, and Wendy play-house! Neither of the properties is suitable for the less mobile tenant and the spiral stairs are steep. Young children should be supervised both on the stairs and in the garden where the water features are not fenced off.</p>
<p>The hand painted medieval Hall with its original carved fireplace and open fire is an absolute delight and the later addition of a sitting room at the top of the tower gives you spectacular 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside. This is an ancient building and the rooms are set over 4 floors linked by steep staircases. The two bedrooms are on the second floor and share a bathroom. There are 3 futon beds in the 3rd floor sitting room.</p>

<p>Outside you have access to the delightful gardens as well as a pretty sheltered seating area within the courtyard where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and soak up the history.</p>
<p>Nearby is historic Stirling where the Battle of Bannockburn took place and be sure to visit Stirling Castle. Edinburgh is 30 minutes away and there are many golf courses within an hour’s drive. It is a great jumping off point to explore Scotland in the knowledge you are returning to your own castle in the evening!</p>

The rear south facing garden contains a climbing frame with swings, various outdoor toys, a kickabout area, and a large south facing sun terrace with BBQ and garden furniture.</p>

It is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, but also for those wanting to be within striking distance of adventurous activities and entertainment.</p>
<p>Castleview is a holiday house equally popular with families, adult groups, weddings and other special occasions such as a special birthday. This fine old family home is now available for self-catering holidays throughout the year, and is most suited for relaxed family life. Children are well provided for with plenty to do, and all ages will enjoy the local area particulary the large ‘Square’ in front of the property which was once a fenced in private garden for all residents of Victoria Square.</p>

<p>Plane Tower circa 1430 is a truly impressive part of the Castle with views from the top of the Tower extending one way to the Ochil Hills and the lower Highlands and in the others to the Battle of Bannockburn and the Forth Bridges near Edinburgh.</p>
<p>Situated over 3 floors the accommodation in this part of the Castle offers flexibility. The Ground floor houses the Kitchen which is fully equipped with all mod cons such as dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer.</p>

<p>The Medieval Hall ,on the first floor, is a generously proportioned room with many original 15th century features inc carved stone fireplace, Garderobe chamber and window seats. The Celtic designs painted on the beams and ceiling depict the story of the Castle’s history inc the Battle of Bannockburn.</p>
<p>All bedroom accommodation is on the second floor comprising of a double bedroom and twin bedroom. Both these bedrooms feature beautifully exposed stone walls and beams and the double room also has a beautifully arched window seat with views across the rolling open countryside.</p>

<p>On the third floor stands the commanding Edwardian Crown Room added onto the Tower in 1908. The 21 windows give 360 degree panoramic views over seven counties and views of the Forth Bridges to the East , The Trossachs to the West and to the North views of the lower Highlands.</p>
<p>This room has TV and DVD , comfortable seating for 8 guests and a Jotul wood burning stove. It is possible to sleep a further 4 guests ( one double and two single fold out futons) in this room which can be divided by a heavy room hanging.</p>

Flexibility is provided through the fact that both the Kingsize beds can be split to form 2 single beds in each room if preferred.</p>
