The Space
The Banking Hall is a truly distinctive home, combining the character of a historic 19th-century building with a stylish, comfortable interior. Originally built in 1870 as a bank, the property has been thoughtfully transformed into a spacious and welcoming family home, while retaining its unique sense of history.

The standout feature is the impressive open-plan living space on the ground floor, centred around a spectacular spiral staircase that sweeps upwards to the bedrooms. The staircase is a real talking point and gives the house its unmistakable character.

The home comfortably sleeps up to six guests, with two generous double bedrooms and additional sleeping space of a sofa bed in the lounge ( small additional fee of £15 per night applies), together with two full bathrooms for added convenience. One of the bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom.

The interior is filled with interesting details and personal touches collected by the owners during their travels around the world, giving the property a warm, individual feel rather than the character of a typical holiday rental.

Outside, the property has the distinctive sandstone architecture associated with the area, while its position provides easy access to local amenities and excellent transport links. With the main train line between Edinburgh and Glasgow close by, The Banking Hall is also an ideal base for exploring further afield in Scotland.
