Falkirk and the surrounding area are steeped in history. The historic Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 and Battle of Sherriffmuir in 1715 all helped to shape the history of Scotland and these sites can easily be visited from our properties. Allow yourself to become absorbed by the atmosphere, whilst visiting the magnificent Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Experience, and then recharge your batteries in one of the many cafés, restaurants or pubs.



Falkirk is also home to the world’s only fully rotating boat lift, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal, and also is home to The Kelpies @ Helix Park – the largest Equine statues in the world!



The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on the nearby Ochil Hills. It was recently discovered through an archaeological dig, that the area, now known as Higginsneuk, dates back to the 1500s and was once the Royal dock for King James IV of Scotland.

Patio doors lead from the Lounge out to the extensive garden complete with Patio furniture and, with a BBQ provided, you can make the most of your time relaxing with family and friends of an evening.

East Kelt Farm Cottage is a deceptively large 3 bedroom house dating back to the 1870s.

Accommodation is all on one level and many of the rooms have views across the moors making the most spectacular vantage point for sunsets.
 
Comprising of 1 king-size bedroom with ensuite bathroom and large dressing area, 1 double bedroom and one twin bedroom the flexible sleeping arrangements make it ideal for families and couples alike.
 
The large farmhouse kitchen (fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, large American style fridge , range cooker and double oven) is further complemented by a substantial dining room with many pieces of handmade furniture crafted by the owner’s father. A separate, large utility room provides ample space for muddy boots and jackets after a walk in the local area and also houses a washing machine, tumble drier and freezer.

Sleeping six (maximum 4 adults and 2 children) comfortably in a one king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, one double bedroom and a twin room, and with on-street parking, this apartment is perfectly suited for a break to explore Stirling and the surrounding area.

Located on the first floor of a traditional Victorian four in a block tenement, this deceptively large property will give you the ideal base for a stay in Stirling.

Situated over two floors, the accommodation comprises of a welcoming hallway open plan lounge/dining room with seating and dining facilities for 4 people. Upstairs comprises of 2 large bedrooms one of which is en-suite and a second toilet/shower room.

The fully equipped, modern kitchen boasts a fridge freezer, electric hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and is fully stocked with crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and ovenware to make your self-catering holiday as relaxing as possible. Parking is free on the road opposite the house and free to unload and load directly outside. There is also metered parking nearby which costs £3.20 if you were parking all day in a metered zone the cost of which is covered by the owner.

You can enjoy the unrestricted views across the countryside with the Ochil Hills to the north and River Forth to the east while relaxing in the garden after a hard day’s sightseeing.

South Doll Farm Cottage is situated 2.1 miles from the closest small village of Dunmore which lies along the road between Throsk and Airth on the banks of the River Forth. The cottage is ideally placed for visiting Stirling or Falkirk, as well as being almost equidistant from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The close proximity to both Kincardine and Clackmannanshire bridges also enables easy access to the Kingdom of Fife and beyond.

FACILITIES
On the ground floor the entrance hallway leads to the twin and 1 kingsize bedroom both of which share the large shower room also located on this floor. The open plan lounge/ dining area has ample seating and dining space for 8 and the uniquely shaped kitchen , which was originally the Dairy Parlour, has everything you need for a self-catering holiday: fridge freezer, electric hob, oven, microwave washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher.

On the upper floor you will find a further kingsize bedroom and a large single room which share the large family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. The spacious hall landing is kitted out with bean bags and chairs providing a chill out area away from the rest of the house.
