Traditionally the cottage was home to farm workers however when the need was no longer required the decision to let other people enjoy the peaceful location was easy.

Recently renovated and modernised, this bright, comfortable cottage offers exceptional value for a break to Central Scotland. Its excellent location also means that you can easily travel further afield to explore all that that the area has to offer.

This traditional farm cottage is a wonderful place to escape to; it is the ideal base for a holiday full of walking and cycling or simply to enjoy the quiet, rural location and views.



Ideal for families and small groups, the cottage, which has recently been refurbished and modernised, comprises a double bedroom, bunk bedroom, a bathroom with over bath shower, a fully equipped modern kitchen with hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and coffee maker, a private enclosed driveway and a peaceful garden where you can enjoy the views of the countryside.



With ample parking provided and generous storage space for golf clubs, bikes and outdoor gear, you will be hard pushed to find a better property for enjoying the Scottish outdoors.

Callendar Estate has a conveniently located trail hub within close walking distance where guests can enjoy 67km of paths including a network of waymarked cycle and walking trails, where you can explore mature woodlands and learn about Falkirk’s local history. Cycle hire is available from Greenrig Cycles and delicious food and refreshments from Café at Canada Wood.



Wilson’s Cottage is in an ideal location to explore the local area, one which combines both outstanding natural beauty with a unique local history. Within a short driving distance you will also be able to sample Scotland’s magnificent Highland scenery and hospitality before returning home to the comfort of your accommodation.



Falkirk and the surrounding area are steeped in history. The historic Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 and Battle of Sherriffmuir in 1715 all helped to shape the history of Scotland and these sites can easily be visited from our properties. Allow yourself to become absorbed by the atmosphere, whilst visiting the magnificent Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Experience, and then recharge your batteries in one of the many cafés, restaurants or pubs.



Falkirk is also home to the world’s only fully rotating boat lift, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal, and also is home to The Kelpies @ Helix Park – the largest Equine statues in the world!



The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on the nearby Ochil Hills. Slightly further away are The Trossachs, Callander, Loch Lomond National Park, Glasgow and Edinburgh providing, therefore, the ideal central touring base for your holiday. Located within an hour’s drive of Glasgow and Edinburgh International airports, the area has excellent motorway connections to the north and south.

Higginsneuk is a modern detached house offering ideal family sized holiday accommodation. Set on the edges of the River Forth with views to the nearby Clackmannan Bridge and Ochil Hills and also with easy access to the main road network, Higginsneuk is an ideal base for touring the Scottish heartlands. It was recently discovered through an archaeological dig, that the area, now known as Higginsneuk, dates back to the 1500s and was once the Royal dock for King James IV of Scotland.

With ample living space in the large lounge you can sit back and relax and watch the latest movie on the Smart TV or wander over to the window to look out over the ever changing vista of the Ochil Hills. Patio doors lead from the Lounge out to the extensive garden complete with Patio furniture and, with a BBQ provided, you can make the most of your time relaxing with family and friends of an evening.



The fully fitted kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher makes cooking and entertaining an easy task after a hard days’ sightseeing. A generous sized kitchen table is located in front of the kitchen window and the separate Utility room houses a washing machine and additional sink. On the upper level, with the stairs accessed from the lounge, are the 2 bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a King size bed and looks out towards the Ochil Hills. With ample space in the fitted wardrobes and with comfy seating this room is a wonderful space to escape to. Bedroom 2 has 2 full size single beds, chest of drawers and a hanging space for clothes. These bedrooms share the use of the bright, modern family bathroom with large shower cubicle, WC, sink and large bath with hand held shower.

With parts of the cottage dating back over 400 years this spacious holiday home will provide the perfect base for your stay in Scotland.

You can enjoy the unrestricted views across the countryside with the Ochil Hills to the north and River Forth to the east while relaxing in the garden after a hard day’s sightseeing.

South Doll Farm Cottage is situated 2.1 miles from the closest small village of Dunmore which lies along the road between Throsk and Airth on the banks of the River Forth. The cottage is ideally placed for visiting Stirling or Falkirk, as well as being almost equidistant from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The close proximity to both Kincardine and Clackmannanshire bridges also enables easy access to the Kingdom of Fife and beyond.

FACILITIES
On the ground floor the entrance hallway leads to the twin and 1 kingsize bedroom both of which share the large shower room also located on this floor. The open plan lounge/ dining area has ample seating and dining space for 8 and the uniquely shaped kitchen , which was originally the Dairy Parlour, has everything you need for a self-catering holiday: fridge freezer, electric hob, oven, microwave washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher.

On the upper floor you will find a further kingsize bedroom and a large single room which share the large family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. The spacious hall landing is kitted out with bean bags and chairs providing a chill out area away from the rest of the house.
